Hello! I am a Champaign-Urbana
native, born and raised here with only a brief stint living in southern
California. I recently graduated from the University of Illinois Graduate
School of Library and Information Science. My primary area of LIS interest
is in Competitive Intelligence. I am looking forward to working in the
CI field and learning more about accessing, retrieving and analyzing
business information.
Outside of school, I am a huge music fan. I like classical,
baroque, techno, house, ambient, jazz, swing, funk, gothic, and lately I
am really into Latin rock from Argentina, Cuba, Mexico and Venezuela. On
weekends I work as a Classic Rock DJ for 105.9 FM WGKC and also
help out at WEFT
90.1 FM.
In 1998 I was the voice on Volition
Software's "FreeSpace" the followup effort to Volition's critically acclaimed
"Descent" space warfare video game. (You can download the FreeSpace Demo
at: http://www.volition-inc.com/fs/downloads.cfm)
I also pursue acting as a hobby, performing in "Wit" at the Station Theatre
last Fall, and I am currently starring in Health Alliance's "Custom Choice"
television commercial airing locally on WCIA (CBS), WICD (NBC) and WCCU
(Fox). This was my first paid television appearance! I would really love
to do more.
Work has always been very
important to me, and over my lifetime I have usually had at least two jobs.
Besides WGKC, I am lucky to have a Graduate Assistant position in the Library
& Information Science Library and in my spare time (LOL!) I also
work for Skynetworks,
a local wireless Internet service provider.
Ciao!
